Groups
Our small groups gather together throughout the week to teach and share truth, love and encourage, and care and pray for one another. Groups meet at the church or in homes, restaurants, and coffee shops throughout the community. Within these groups, we grow our relationships, both with Jesus and with each other.
Sunday mornings at 9:45 we take a deep look at various topics in the Bible and learn how to read God’s Word insightfully. This group is led by our Teaching Pastor Mike Brewer.
Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month we meet at 6:30pm for Life Groups. We begin with a potluck meal (everyone brings a dish to share) and fellowship and then move on to our evening activity (run on a rotating basis by members of our church). Events range from bonfires to apologetics and scavenger hunts to "issues of the day". We look forward to this time of fellowship and growth with our church family!
Join the men in the church the first and third Saturday of every month at 8:30am for a time of meeting and eating. They look at what it means to be a man from a Biblical lens and how to live your life and guide your family in such a way. All adult men are welcome to attend!
Women meet the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 3pm in the Meeting Room to discuss a book focused on Biblical living. All women/teens are welcome!
Youth Ministry
We have safe and engaging environments for every age group where kids can have fun and learn about Jesus. Everything we do is designed to encourage and support the parent in their God-given role as they raise their child.
At Salt + Light, we noticed an issue when families walked into church, where the adults turned left for the sanctuary and the children turned right for children's church. We now aim to have the family learn, grow, and worship together.
Children join us during our Sunday morning service. They may color a picture or eat a snack, but often times we are reminded of how much our children enjoy the music, listen to the sermon, and engage in worship.
We strive to integrate the teachings of Jesus Christ into the lives of our youth. We are a family oriented church. On Sunday the family worships together during our 11 am service.
For teens, we mentor on a case by case basis as relationships between the youth develop with the adults in our church, always with the knowledge and approval of the parents. We also often involve teens in the ongoing life of the church, whereby they can align their interests with places of service.
We feel that it is part of God's calling on our church to be available for and ready to help the students and youth in our area, especially since we're wonderfully positioned directly across the street from Eastside High School here in Newton County.
Every Tuesday* at 3:15 - 6:30pm, teens ages 13-19 years old are welcome to a coffee shop vibe place to chat, enjoy coffee/snacks, study, create art, play basketball, or just hang out!
