Groups
Our small groups gather together throughout the week to teach and share truth, love and encourage, and care and pray for one another. Groups meet at the church or in homes, restaurants, and coffee shops throughout the community. Within these groups, we grow our relationships, both with Jesus and with each other. Come on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month for pot luck dinner, followed by an adult Life Group:
During this time we take a deep look at various topics in the Bible and learn how to read God’s Word insightfully. We are currently focused on Jesus's miracles in the New Testament and the significance of each. This group is led by Teaching Pastor Mike Brewer.
Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month we meet at 6pm for Life Groups. We begin with a group meal (everyone brings a dish to share) and then move on to our evening activity (run on a rotating basis by members of our church). Events range from bonfires and fellowship to scavenger hunts to "Schoolyard Olympics". We look forward to this time of fellowship and growth with our church family!
Join the men in the church the first and third Saturday of every month for a time of meeting and eating. They are currently going through "Wild at Heart" by John Eldredge. They look at what it means to be a man from a Biblical lens and how to live your life and guide your family in such a way. All adult men are welcome to attend!
Youth Ministry
We have safe and engaging environments for every age group where kids can have fun and learn about Jesus. Everything we do is designed to encourage and support the parent in their God-given roll as they raise their child.
Our children's ministry volunteers provide a loving Christian environment for your little ones. We want both children and parents to feel God's love.
At Salt + Light we thought there was an issue when families walked into church, the adults turned left for the sanctuary and the children turned right for Children's church. We aim to have the family learn, grow and worship together.
We understand children can be rowdy, and that's okay! (and expected) Our children's ministry volunteers provide a loving Christian environment for your little ones. Children usually sit in the service together while a volunteer will work with them during the service. They may color or eat a snack, but often times we under estimate how well our children listen to the sermon and engage in worship.
We strive to integrate the teachings of Jesus Christ into the lives of our 6th – 12th grade students. We are a family oriented church. On Sunday the family worships together during our 11 am service.
After service from approximately 12:30 to 1:15 we host "Mosaics" for youth to have dedicated time and focused attention learning about and applying Biblical topics to their personal lives and getting personal attention and instruction.
We also mentor our youth on a case by case basis as relationships between the youth develop with the adults in our church and always with the knowledge and approval of the parents.
Sports
The adult athletics program is a ministry at Salt & Light Christian Church. We aim to glorify God, represent Salt & Light Christian Church and connect others to Jesus Christ through athletic competition.
This is offered for teenagers through adults. We play pick up softball and, on Thanksgiving Day, flag football ("Work Off the Turkey Before You Eat the Turkey"). We also play golf and we are looking to start kickball.
Life Skills
We are excited to host our Life Skills Workshops taking place June 5th – 8th at Salt + Light Christian Church in Covington, GA!
