In the Church
Praising and experiencing the presence of God through music.
- STAGE TEAM: join the band (instrument or voice) on stage leading the congregation in worship
- SOUND TEAM: support music by managing the sound board, live stream, and stage lights
Creating a welcoming environment for people to connect to God.
- GREETER TEAM: welcome visitors and answer their questions
- COMMUNION TEAM: prepare and distribute elements of Communion
- FACILITIES TEAM: work behind-the-scenes to ensure our facilities and grounds are ready for gathering
Raising up another generation of Christ followers.
- YOUTH: We believe that our youth are great imitators and learn best through "doing as we do", not just as we say. Our youth remain in service with us and we even have several assisting in various parts of our ministry including with facilities maintenance, running light and sound equipment, and helping to watch younger children. If you are a youth and interested in serving, you can speak to a member of our Leadership Team to see where your skills and interests can contribute!
- NURSERY: Even babies and toddlers remain with us during the Sunday service gathering. We understand there will be minor disruptions from time to time and we do have a nursery and a play room available if parents prefer a different environment to tend to their children from time to time. The service is broadcast in the nursery so you do not have to miss out while attending to your child. As an additional resource, some members of the church volunteer to help parents by offering to take young children to the play room if the child is having a difficult time during service. This is a personal relationship developed one-on-one between the parents and the other members of the church and is available as the parent and child feel comfortable.
In the Community
As needs arise, people will coordinate meals, helping people in need in our church family as well as in the community. Please contact admin@saltandlightchristian.org if you know of a need or would like to participate in this ministry.
This local center in Newton County provides resources and counseling to women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. The Lord is doing great work here to save babies from abortion and help their families. We currently support Newton Pregnancy Resource Center (NPRC) financially with part of our tithes as well as at events and outreach (www.newtonprc.org).
This organization provides relief in times of crisis across the globe in the name of Jesus Christ. We support them with regular donations and by raising awareness of local volunteer opportunities (www.samaritanspurse.org).
We have been blessed with an extraordinary location that is directly across the road from Eastside High School. We support staff and students at the school through compiling "Meal Packs" for students in need, mentoring, and other opportunities as they arise.
